4/4/12 - First Day of the AMJ Roadtrip

We actually planned to leave VDO on 4/2 but chores consumed that day and 4/3. So 4/4 became the first day of our April/May/June Roadtrip. We pulled the chocks, hooked up the Saturn and pulled onto Hwy 60 going west, then onto 101 north, then north on Hwy 17. It's a steep pull up into the pines of Flagstaff.
Gramma is navigator and on-the-road photographer. Near Flagstaff she saw this interesting road sign.
Decision time--We picked East.
It was a slow driving day. There was construction on the up and down 40 always above 5000 feet. Our preference is to drive five or six hours, get to our destination and spent the afternoon living, reading, doing blogs, resting.

Looks like it was a beautiful day for traveling! Do you think there are Mormons at Mormon Lake :)?
