Weather Adventure

Thanks for your prayers. We made it through a night of "Tornado Watch" at Heyburn Lake. We had our emergency plans if the "watch" turned into a "warning". We woke up every two hours to check weather.com on the iPad. We were getting a good signal. The watch lasted all night, with lightning and rain keeping us company. The morning brought sun. The park was soggy, but we were safe and exhausted.

The town of Norman, mentioned below, was not far from us.

So in the morning we left Heyburn on Hwy 66 to I44 north and east to Hwy 72 on the way to Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Gramma found us this park for tonight and tomorrow night.

Once again, family history research brought us here. Next to Gramma is Celia Smith, a distant relative in Gramma's Kippen line. Gramma discovered this Oklahoma member of the church while doing work on "New Family Search". They exchanged emails and this meeting was arranged. This is the first time they met face to face and they spent the afternoon comparing records. Tomorrow we'll go to church with her.

At the moment The weather.com says at 7:29 PM CST "No active alerts for location" (Bartlesville) but as they say in City Slickers "The day ain't over yet" We know where the closest brick bldg is. Hopefully we won't need it.
