Becca's bday II

So, on Sunday Amanda's family hosted Becca's bday dinner. And afterward it was time for the ice cream cake. All of the children were excited. Hannah Montana is popular here in Rigby.

With Becca's "3" & "4" lighted, we sang Happy Birthday, Becca made a wish and blew out the candles.

And then there were presents! 

The Reynolds gave her such thoughtful gifts. Becca loved the Hannah ball.

And as soon as Becca got outside she began playing with her new bubbles.

Amanda, Eric, Emma, Lily and Carson were very kind and generous. (Macy mostly watched)Mahalo. And mahalo to those who have sent along bday wishes for our 34 year old. 

P.S. 1. Becca saw an eye doc yesterday. His opinion is that she doesn't need surgery on the growth on her left eye, but we need to look at it again next summer.

2. Mom's surgery for tomorrow (6/23) has been postponed. She has come down with a bad cough and cold. We'll keep you posted.

Becca's 34th

For several years, Becca has been selecting the image she'd like on her bday cake. She gives it a lot of thought and talks about it for several weeks before the actual date. This year she settled on Hanna Montana. Here it is. Sorry for the resolution. Pic is from Mom's iphone. First choice would have been to ask our family graphic artist Rycharn (pronounced by Becca "Gernard"). Becca's Gernard favorite from past years is Peter Pan. But since we are in the wilds of eastern Idaho, we had to settle for DQ. They did the best they could.

Of course her actual birth date is next week, the 23rd. But that's the day of Mom's first eye operation. So we began the celebration yesterday by going to "Toy Story 3". (Btw, it is terrific. But some parts are a little intense for the little ones. The first thing Carson told me was he didn't like the monkey. So you are forewarned.). And tomorrow after church we'll have Becca's bday dinner, and have the cake. Related story-- one day we were shopping somewhere, probably Walmart, and I looked down into the basket. There were two of those big birthday candle numbers, a three and a four. I said to Becca "Where did those come from?". She said "For my birthday party. I'll be 34." And so she will be. She is often a surprize.

Rexburg Report

Dear Family, We've been in Rigby and Rexburg for a week. Besides spending time with Macy Jane and her family (super fun), we have been making the rounds with our medical teams. Here is a little report.

Dr. Mortensen is the optometrist Mom saw to confirm that she did indeed need cataract surgery. This will be the place we'll get Dad's new glasses, and get a second opinion on Becca's eye problem. Dr.Brown in SLC thought the growth on her eye might need to be removed.

This is where Mom's eyes will be operated on. June 23 they have scheduled her left eye work. Please keep her in your prayers. Dr.Cannon is her surgeon.
