The Bountiful Connellys spent Christmas in Mesa with Heidi’s parents. They decided that they would stop for a couple of nights with us in Needles when they were returning home. We were excited to have visitors to our winter quarters.

Gramma planned activities for the Bountifuls, especially for David, and began to count the sleeps. On Thursday 12/27 the Bountifuls got an early start from Mesa and got to our Desert View RV Resort mid morning and we got this party started.

One of Gramma’s plans was to build a little rock tower along our section of old Route 66. She had noticed that dozens of little rock “monuments” have been erected along the roadside by anonymous architects, and she thought David would enjoy helping her put one up. So everyone hiked out to the park entrance, crossed the road and began the Connelly road monument.

The surprise was little Rebecca. She was all about this and contributed many rocks of her own choosing.

These are some great pictures. Both children enjoyed going out and exploring with Gram and Papa.
Great fun!!! The pictures are great and a rock activity sounds just up David and Rebecca's alley.
I like the pictures. Mom is always thinking of original and memorable things to do with the grandkids.
Thanks for sharing their visit with the rest of us that weren't able to make it to Needles this holiday season.
glad the visit was a good one. Lily wants to know when we are going to see the grandma and grandpa with the 'beard'. (not meaning that grandma has one, you are just with the man that does:) anyway, get idea for the kids.
