On August 26th, the new Kindergarteners, parents (and grandparents) were invited to Timpanogos Elementary School to meet their teacher and see their classroom, preparatory to beginning school on Aug 27th. Heidi was thoughtful to let Gramma know of the opportunity. I don't know who was most excited, David or Gramma. In this photo they pose with Mrs. Unufe, David's teacher. Her husband is Tongan, so we are trying to teach David the Tongan greeting (who remembers?) "malo lelei".

David's "Orientation"

The Tongan sounds correct to me, Talofa is Samoan. The way I remember is that it Tongan and Talofa both start with T and don't go together like you might want them to.
So did David end up in an all english Kindergarten or in the Dual Language Spanish one?
David is in the English Only AM class. His teacher seems very on-top of things and responsible. She even invited me to come and go through their snack cupboards to make sure everything is "David-Safe." David has enjoyed the first two days of class even though he can't say his teacher's name. Thanks to Gram and Papa for joining us!!
Did David enjoy his first days at school? I'll bet he was the most precious one there!!
